Annotated Chapters
Have you ever read a book and wondered, Wow, where did that come from? Or, Why did the writer decide to use this ending? Or even, What was he (add expletive here) thinking? For those who have ever thought such things about my writing (or demand that I explain myself) I've decided to attempt to answer. Simply click on the book(s) below and you'll find annotated commentaries on several of the chapters within. I will continue to add more chapters over time (let me know which chapters particularly interest you), and for additional books as they are released. And let these annotations stand as testaments that, whatever the results, I was indeed attempting to write something rational and, hopefully, relevant in these passages.
Warning!
- These annotations do include spoilers.
- Due to contractual obligations, I may not be able to post chapters in their entirety. In such instances, I have made notation about specific lines and pages where indicated.
- Do not expect much logic or linear focus in these annotations. Comments include aspects of inspiration and motivation behind story elements, allusions to other areas of the book as well as previous drafts, comments on writing craft, and even bits of my personal philosophy. You see them as they came to me, so please attribute any erraticness to my natural thought processes, which cannot be helped. Enjoy!
Green Dragon Codex
- Did you know that...
Originally, this book was three books, the ogre mage was an Aurak draconian, and the entire story was thought up so that I could drop a cow on a dragon? Enter and learn the truth beneath the history of dragonkind, including annotations from Master Henham!
