Hi Clint. Thanks. I plan to attend the workshop each month. Do you attend regularly?

I am willing to learn, and would welcome any advice you can give me.

What does LTUE stand for?

Hope to someday read one of your books. I will get one as soon as possible.

You're very welcome, Vivia. I hope we cross paths again. Be sure to learn from those further along the path because, trust me, you can cut down your own time spent wandering in the wilderness considerably. Learn from the mistakes I and others made. We'll all be happy to tell you about them. Keep up the writing and don't get discouraged, because the only way to really fail at this game is to quit. As long as you keep improving your skills, working hard, and enduring, you're outcompeting most of the competition.

Hi Clint. Thanks for the time you gave others and myself at the workshop on Thursday 21st January, at the Taylorsville Library. This is all new to me. I felt inspired knowing I was sitting amongst authors who've had books published. With the information you shared on Networking, I now believe it will happen to me too. I soaked it all up the best I could. I have never had anything published, or tried to. The stories I have so far written are for really young children, and they're sitting around in my house. I have for the last year been working on a Fantasy story with a little history in it. It has been pretty hard at times, learning there's more to be a writer than coming up with the story. I have learned much, and still much more to learn. Sometimes I've cried over it, and sometimes felt like giving up. Sometime in the future I hope to have it published. What I wanted to let you know is, with your talk about Networking, I came away feeling inspired, knowing that in time, it can happen. And I will take your advice and hopefully when the time is right, the book will be published. I believe in it, I think it is a good story, but not sure if I'm ready for it to go out in the world. A lot more to learn before all that happens.
Thanks again.

Super ginormous book? That rings a bell... Hey, be sure to come shake my hand at LTUE and remind me who you are. As for your book, have you been able to break it up? If so, well done! That can be a beast of a task. When we talk at LTUE give me a full update. If you have any questions for me, please come see me during my signing and we'll talk.

Hey Clint! Thanks again for yet another awesome workshop! I enjoy listening about and learning from your experiences. The tip about not assuming that editors and agents will think you are being an imposition was great advice for me. I'm always afraid I'm bothering people when I try to talk to them. So thank you for letting us know that they don't always see it that way. You're a great speaker and teacher, thanks again for the advice you gave me last winter to split my super ginormous book into three books. It's been a great learning experience to see exactly how much I was trying to stuff into one little novel. Thanks Clint! See you at LTUE!

Glad to be of help, Brian. As for the dreaded query letter (just wait until you hit the synopsis!), come to my book signing at LTUE. It'll be Friday at noon. Between signing books (hopefully many of them) I'll be happy to talk to you about writing a query and give you other pointers on your query package. How's that sound?

I enjoyed your class last night Clint, it was nice to meet you in person. This has been my second time attending a LUW meeting and I have been impressed. I have finished writing my first children’s novel so now I am working on the dreaded query letter. Thanks again for the information about networking.
